Drogheria Studio signed naming, visual identity, and creative direction for NEMI – Nest in Milan, a new five-star hotel in the heart of the Cinque Giornate district. A place designed to offer an immersive experience, which conveys an authentic and singular interpretation of the city, between Milanese tradition and contemporary pulse.
The name takes its origin from the acronym for “Nest in Milan” and suggests, right from the sound, the idea of an intimate and cozy refuge. An urban nest, in dialogue with its surrounding context: a vital fabric made of ateliers, galleries, independent boutiques, and signature restaurants. The concept of interweaving present in some architectural details of the building becomes an element of inspiration for the design and construction of the logo. The result is a typographic sign that blends constructive rigor and stylistic sensibility, in which the tension between plain forms and thin lines recalls the balance between structure and style typical of design and fashion languages. The layout of materials and the use of typography are deliberately unconventional: minimalism, visual balances, and counterpoints between solids and voids metaphorically convey an invitation to take one's space and feel at ease within the environments of NEMI.
The color palette is inspired by the interiors of the hotel, creating a strong visual connection with the architecture. In dialogue with the latter, we also created the selection of furniture complements and curated a series of illustrations signed by Matteo Fumagalli, in art Fumatto, which fit harmoniously into the various environments evoking the iconic elements of the city. Finally, we directed the shooting for the hotel’s social campaigns. Thanks to an all-round identity taken care of in every detail, NEMI – Nest in Milan is the ideal choice for a cozy and exclusive stay, where hospitality becomes art.
